The Lathe Arrives!

I ordered the lathe from SyilAmerica on 7/2/2009, and it shipped 8/6/2009, arriving within a week. 

Below are pictures of me and my friend Chuck getting the machine off the truck, uncrated, and setup in the room attached to my shop.  All done in about 3 hours.

First Projects

My first turning was tapering a rod.  Simple, no?.  Wasn't for me!  Here is a door pull and standoff.  I made 6 duplicate sets for my friend Chuck.

I bought a Quick Change Toolpost, and modified the base that came with the lathe to use it.
